Jazz

Chris plays in Big Bands, Swing Bands, Dance Bands, Jazz Bands, and has worked with many vocalists. He Ffonts a five or seven piece Group covering Swing, Funk, Latin and mainstream Jazz performing at a variety of venues and private functions. Has been a Band Leader and arranger.
Performed with nationally acclaimed artists such as Steve Waterman (Trpt), Peter King (Sax), Don Rendall (Sax), Trevor Tomkins (Drums), Jeff Clyne (Bass), Lee Gibson (Voc), Tina May (Voc), Nikki Iles (piano), Pete Neighbour (Clarinet), Kenny Ball (Trpt) and Digby Fairweather (Trpt).  Performed with Big Bands and Groups in the UK, Germany, Czech Republic, and France.

Musical Training

From the age of 6 years Chris developed his musical talent through the Salvation Army, Brass Bands, local  Swing Bands, Jazz Bands, Pop Groups and Orchestras. Has worked for Cruise Liners and is a freelance musician and teacher for brass, drums and percussion instruments.

Westminster Philharmonic, Norfolk Symphony Orchestra, Norwich Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestra: Playing Pieces by: Beethoven, Brahms, Debussy, Dvorak, Elgar, Hindemith, Holst, Mahler, Rachmaninov, Ravel, Shostakovich, Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Wagner and many others.

Musical Theatre

The Sound of Music, Mack & Mable, South Pacific, Anything Goes, Guys & Dolls, Copacabana, Hello Dolly, Carousel, Jesus Christ Superstar, Gilbert & Sullivan's The Sorcerer, Annie, Hot Mikado, 42nd Street, Fiddler on the Roof many others as well as pantomimes.

Tribute Bands

Blues Brothers, ABBA, Beatles, Boogie Nights and 60s groups.

Miscellaneous

Has co-organised Jazz education courses, workshops and a major London international competition. Has co-produced CD’s. Teaches in schools, primary and secondary on 1 to 1 and in small groups. Written articles for Libretto magazine. Recently returned from working on cruise ships.
